Summer Party Tips!
June 1, 2014Have a full large container of Spa Water. One idea is 6 slices of fresh pineapple, 1 or 2 slices of fresh ginger and 1 handful of fresh mint. Place all of the above ingredients in a clean, glass jug with fresh iced water! Hydrating and so good!
- For a daytime party, limit your choice of “spirits” to beer and wine. Check out our selection of wines at Windsor Oaks Winery & Vineyards.Have a good back up of ice in the freezer.
- A good idea is to start filling large zip lock Baggies with ice a few days ahead. Saves you that last minute run to the market.
- Planning your menu – local, fresh seasonal ingredients; salads; grilled food take place of winter stews and casserole.
- Ask guests to bring a side dish made from something in their garden or their local farmers market. At one party everyone brought their recipes on 5 x7 cards to share with each other.
- If your party is being held in the middle of a hot summer afternoon, place various colored fans on everyone’s plate to assist them in keeping cool and to take home as a party favor.
- Be sure to have umbrellas, so your friends can escape the heat.
- Setting the mood – colorful dishes and a playful theme help to create a festive mood. Lemons, white daisies and fresh herbs in small colorful pots running down the center of your table look great. Simple and easy.
- Let your friends know the dress code is casual and fun.
- Create a summer play list in advance and keep it upbeat.
- Keep ingredients to whip up a fresh salsa and chips. Comes in handy for those spontaneous get together.
PARTY ON!!!!!
